The Grainiest Mistakes

Earlier I promised I would do my best to share the good, the bad, and the grainy. So... here we go...

I personally don't mind 'grainy,' and while I try to avoid it, all is not lost when you end up with a grainy photograph. Above, for example, is a photograph I took today at Lake Ogallala, when the lighting was at its peak, and the eagles began to hunt for their evening meal. I took several photographs, not realizing that I somehow managed to kick my ISO up to 2500. Lesson learned the hard way... again.

Still, I don't mind this shot. Perhaps it will live in digital format and small print, and I will have to once again feel small for making such a rookie error. Next time, I will be more careful - especially when I'm shooting for others.
